Sunshine Valley Community is located on Highway 3 just before Manning Park's eastern entrance. It is an all-season resort residential community set in the scenic Sumallo and Nicolum River Valleys.
Sunshine Valley has had an interesting history since the 1930's and the creation of the Trites Hope Farm. It then became Tashme, a Japanese Internment camp, a Boy's Town Association home for wayward boys before becoming a rural recreation community.
There are six neighbourhoods comprising the community: Alpine, Cedar, Parkhill, Huckleberry, Meadow and Sumallo. These villages were established in the 1970s and 1980s.
