The purpose of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is to make public bodies more accountable to the public and to protect personal privacy by:
- giving the public a right of access to records, where permissible, and
- giving individuals a right of access to, and a right to request correction of, personal information about themselves;
The Act applies to all records in the custody or under the control of a public body, subject to exceptions identified in the Act. The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is a public body as defined in the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Should you wish to make a request for access to records in the custody or under the control of the Fraser Valley Regional District, your request must be submitted in writing (by form or by email) to the following:
