Anyone who observes a violation should report the incident by calling the FVRD's Illegal Dumping Hotline. The FVRD has very limited resources to respond to illegal dumping complaints, and in the majority of cases acts as an intermediary between the person who reports the incident and the agency responsible for the cleanup.
In case of an environmental emergency, however, please call the BC Ministry of Environment's "Report all Poachers and Polluters Hotline".
Callers are asked to make note of the 4W's when reporting an incident:
- Where did the illegal dumping take place?
- When did you notice the illegal dumping?
- What materials were illegally dumped?
- Who committed the illegal dumping?
