Phase 2 is the Input stage of the RGS Review Process. It is your chance to tell us about your hopes and concerns for the future. Phase 2 is well underway. To date, we have held six open houses in communities around the region, two open houses on UFV campuses, and posted an Opinion Survey on our website. We gathered some very valuable information about the issues that are a priority for you.
Opinions came from residents of all our municipalities and electoral areas, from men and women of all ages, and from the younger generation. For those unable to make it to an Open House, we offered an online survey. This survey will reamin open until December 20, 2012. Once the survey is closed, we will tabulate, summarize and report the results from both the open houses and the survey here.
In addition to seeking public input, we held a forum on Aging in the Fraser Valley on November 30, 2012 to expore the challenges our Region faces with a growing senior population. Topics discussed included:
- Adequate & Affordable Housing
- Access to Services
- Mobility & Transportation
- Social Connectivity
- Healthy Living
- Cost & Opportunities of Aging
For more information, take a look at the workshop presentations posted in the sidebar on the right and read the Aging Forum Report.
Also planned is a forum on energy, a Council of Councils forum to gather political input, and a First Nations forum to discuss ways to strengthen working relationships and improve communication between government and First Nations.
Keep checking back here for updates. If you have any questions or comments, please email them to RGSInput@fvrd.bc.ca.
