The Fraser Valley Regional District's (FVRD) electoral area planning department advises and informs the regional board, local committees, businesses and the general public on zoning, land use, development applications, design, procedural requirements and other planning matters affecting the health, safety and welfare of FVRD residents within the electoral areas.
This function provides a pivotal role in managing and protecting the district’s resources (land, water, air, and minerals), environment and quality of life. The two key facets that are required to ensure these values are upheld are both site- and long-range planning.
