During the summer season (beginning of May until the  end of August), FVRD's Weeds summer staff will pick up weeds from private properties within the FVRD Free of Charge.

Please note: the weeds must be bagged and appropriately labelled!

To request a pickup, please call the Noxious Weeds phone number: 604-702-5067.

The Fraser Valley Regional District's noxious weed control program controls wild chervil and tansy ragwort within the boundaries of the regional district (Electoral Areas C, D, E, G, and H) as well as the City of Abbotsford, City of Chilliwack, District of Mission, and Township of Langley.

Noxious weed control staff control infestations of wild chervil and tansy ragwort on roadsides and crown land, but also work to help educate private landowners and corporations on control methods and legislation concerning noxious weeds. Noxious weed control staff are also active in identifying, mapping, and assisting with control strategies for many other noxious weeds growing within the Fraser Valley.

The program is partially funded by grants from the Ministry of Agriculture, and works cooperatively with the Ministry of Transportation, Canadian Pacific Railway, Canadian National Railway, Southern Railway, and Terasen Incorporated.
